Life happens, priorities change — and that includes the size and shape of your breasts. While as a young woman bigger may have been better, now smaller and firmer may make you look more natural and youthful.
While many women undergo breast augmentation assuming that their implants will last a lifetime, this is not always the case. Perhaps over time your implants have hardened, ruptured or caused excess scar formation. Or maybe the first doctor just didn’t get the breast augmentation right and you’ve never been completely satisfied. Many breast implants will need to be replaced a decade or two after the initial procedure. That’s where Dr. Adams comes in, with revisional surgery giving you new breasts that are soft, symmetrical. Beautiful.

Depending on your specific concerns, your breast implants can be removed, replaced with the same type and size of implant, replaced with a different implant, or repositioned within your chest. Dr. Adams will work with you to plan a revision surgery that will address your needs and meet your goals.
Candidates
Breast implant removal, replacement or revision surgery is for women who already have breast implants. Women undergoing revision surgery typically do so because they are unhappy with the current size, shape or appearance of their surgically enhanced breasts. The most common reason to undergo breast implant removal & replacement is dissatisfaction with the size of the implants; many patients later wish that they had chosen a larger or smaller breast implant. Other reasons include dissatisfaction with the aesthetic results of surgery; the breast may appear asymmetrical, too far apart, too high on the chest or unnatural.
The removal or replacement of breast implants may be performed for cosmetic or medical reasons. Fortunately, most of the concerns that arise from breast implants are correctable through revision surgery. Some of the many reasons to undergo implant removal & replacement include:
- Changing desires regarding breast size or shape
- Deciding to revert to natural breasts
- Complications such as implant hardening, rupture or excess scar tissue
- Unhappiness with aesthetic results of surgery
