breast implant sizeIf you have undergone breast implants, you most likely spent many years thrilled with the change in your body and enjoying your new breast size. However, aging can alter opinions and priorities, and you may find yourself wishing for a different size implant after 10 or 15 years. It’s also possible that your implants ruptured, hardened, or caused excess scar formation. Or perhaps your first surgeon didn’t complete the augmentation to your liking. The science of plastic surgery has evolved drastically over the years, and you may be anxious to take advantage of new developments.

Whatever your reason for considering implant removal or replacement, finding the right doctor is key to revising your surgery to give you new breasts that are soft, symmetrical, and beautiful.

Breast Implant Revision

Breast implant revision is typically done to change the size or type of implants, or possibly to correct any complications from the original augmentation. The overall goal is always to ensure the breast has a youthful contour and appearance.

Many women seek implant revision when their implants have deflated or the silicone shell has a leak. Others want to change the size, and some need an update due to stretched skin or weight loss/gain.

The exact procedure that you undergo will be determined by the reason for your replacement. For example, to simply change an implant size your surgeon will probably use the original incision used in your first augmentation, then either enlarge or reduce the size of the pocket to fit the new implants.

Breast Implant Removal

Many women are frightened at the idea of an implant removal because they are unsure of their breast appearance after the implant has been removed. This doesn’t need to be an issue, however, because the doctor can always create full, high breasts after implant removal by using an innovative “auto-augmentation” technique to put the hanging breast tissue back where it belongs. Some women seek a breast lift at the same time to eliminate loose skin that could cause lower breasts if not taken care of.

No matter the size or condition of your breasts, there is an option available to achieve the breasts you want.

“I had my first surgery in 2008 with Dr. Adams amazing results! No regrets returning when I wanted to change in 2019. I also had a lower blepharoplasty last year and it was and is absolute perfection ! I healed quickly with no signs of having the procedure done shortly after everyone was amazed at the results:)”
