Male Breast Reduction Considerations

Men can eliminate their enlarged breasts through a process known as gynecomastia treatment. The men that are best suited to this surgery are those that feel nervous about removing their shirts to swim, exercising at the gym, and swimming. Many men want more consistent body proportion, and all want to improve their social confidence and alleviate the psychological discomfort associated with large male breasts.

Details about Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia surgery aims to eliminate excess breast fat and provide men with normal male breast contour. Deformities like stretched nipples and areolas can also be fixed. Liposuction, surgical tissue removal, or a blend of both methods can be utilized to help men achieve the shape and figure that they would like to see in the mirror.

Today’s advanced technology has allowed a “pull-through technique” to achieve reduction of male breasts with minimal invasion into the body. A very small incision is simply made at the edge of the areola, liposuction is utilized, and then glandular tissue is pulled through the incision and out of the body. The smaller the incision, the smaller the scar and the easier the recovery!

The Recovery and Results

Since gynecomastia is a full surgery, it does require recovery time. The first three days are vital to successful recovery and require full bed rest. Most patients are able to return to work after about a week as long as they follow recovery guidelines and avoid high impact activities, direct sun exposure, and strenuous activities.

The wait is worth it, because surgical results are permanent as long as weight remains stable. Men can enjoy a flatter chest with more contour that isn’t impacted by extra breast fat.

“I had my first surgery in 2008 with Dr. Adams amazing results! No regrets returning when I wanted to change in 2019. I also had a lower blepharoplasty last year and it was and is absolute perfection ! I healed quickly with no signs of having the procedure done shortly after everyone was amazed at the results:)”
